Who am I?

My name is Hendrik Jan Christians, 28 years of age and living in Emmeloord (Flevoland, the Netherlands). On February 14th, 2010 I have traveled to India where I will stay for at least 8 weeks. During my stay I want to keep the family, friends, colleagues and all others updated via this weblog if they are interested. This will of course also be a nice diary for me after I get back home.

My travel is initiated due to my work at Accenture Technology Solutions*. My current project is being executed in the Netherlands and in India. I received the opportunity to go to India to assist in communication, project management and overall delivery.

I have been working at Accenture for almost 5 years now and during that time I have worked with our Delivery Center India for 2,5 years, but till now I have never been to India (for business or private travel). Although the opportunity came on a short notice and time for preparations was short, I looked forward to the trip. Finally meeting the people face to face with whom I have been working with for so long. I will update you via this WebLog about my journey and day to day activities.

On a more personal level, I am what you could call a ‘busy beaver’. I enjoy my work and spend much time on my career and company activities. Besides work you’ll find me a lot at my family, friends and at sporting facilities. I love to do sports like Kickboxing, Kick Fun (both at Top Intervention), Snowboarding, Wakeboarding and I am starting off with Kite-surfing. On the time left I fire up the Playstation 3 or my computer for some gaming.

Wie ben ik?

Mijn naam is Hendrik Jan Christians, 28 en wonend in Emmeloord (Flevoland, Nederland). Op 14 februari 2010 ben ik vertrokken naar India waar ik zal verblijven voor ten minste 8 weken. Tijdens mijn verblijf zal ik familie, vrienden, collega’s en iedereen die geïnteresseerd is op de hoogte houden via deze weblog. Uiteraard is dot ook een naslagwerk voor mezelf als ik terug ben in Nederland.

De reis is geïnitieerd vanwege mijn werk by Accenture Technology Solutions*. Mijn huidige project wordt namelijk vanuit Nederland en India uitvervoerd. Hierdoor heb ik de kans gekregen om naar India af te reizen en daar het project te begeleiden in communicatie, project management en de gehele levering van onze dienst en het product.

Ik ben al bijna 5 jaar in dienst bij Accenture en tijdens deze periode werk ik al 2,5 jaar samen met ons Delivery Center India. Echter tot op heden was ik nog niet eerder in India geweest (nog voor een zakelijke reis, nog voor privé redenen). Ondanks dat het verzoek om naar India te gaan onverwacht en op korte termijn werd aangeboden kijk ik erg uit naar de reis. Na al die tijd met deze mensen te hebben samengewerkt mag ik ze persoonlijk ontmoeten. Ik zal berichten plaatsen over mijn reis en activiteiten.

Dan wat meer informatie over mijzelf. Ik ben wat je kunt noemen een ‘bezige bij’. Ik heb plezier in mijn werk en besteed veel tijd aan mijn carrière en de bedrijfsactiviteiten. Naast het werk ben ik veel te vinden bij mijn familie, vrienden en sportfaciliteiten. Ik hou van sporten en doe graag aan Kickboxen, Kick Fun (beiden doe ik bij Top Intervention), Snowboarden, Wakeboarden en ik ben net begonnen met Kite-surfen. Met de tijd die overblijft start ik de Playstation 3 of computer op om wat te gamen.
